When people think of gold, they often assume that the purer it is, the better. But when it comes to jewellery, that’s not quite true. Pure 24K gold is beautiful, but it’s also soft, delicate, and not built for the kind of wear most fine jewellery needs to handle.
That’s why we don’t use 24K or even 22K in our designs. At House of Yarané, we craft most of our pieces in 14K gold, a blend that’s just the right mix of elegance and strength. It gives you the golden glow you expect, with the durability your jewellery deserves.
Why We Work With 14K
14K gold is made up of a little over half pure gold, mixed with other metals that make it more resilient. That means your rings won’t bend easily, your bracelets will hold their shape, and your stones stay securely set.
And let’s be honest it also looks incredible. 14K gold has a softer, more refined shine that complements diamonds and coloured gemstones beautifully. It’s the kind of gold that feels luxe without being loud; timeless, but made for today.

Taking Care of It
Gold is precious, but it’s not high-maintenance. A little attention goes a long way.
Store your jewellery in separate pouches or boxes to avoid scratches. Keep it away from harsh chemicals, think perfume, chlorine, or strong cleaning agents. Clean it gently with mild soap and a soft cloth when needed. And if you’re wearing white gold regularly, it might need a quick rhodium touch-up every year or two to keep its shine fresh.

Understanding the 4Cs
When it comes to diamonds, not all sparkles are created equal. The 4Cs — Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat are the universal standards used to assess a diamond’s quality. At House of Yarané, we work only with diamonds that meet the highest benchmarks across all four.
Colour
Diamonds are graded on a scale from D (colourless) to Z (light yellow). We use diamonds that fall within the DEF range, which are considered colourless — the rarest and most desirable category.
Clarity
Clarity measures the presence of internal inclusions or surface blemishes. Most of our diamonds are graded VVS to VS, meaning they have extremely small inclusions that are invisible to the naked eye, ensuring a flawless appearance.
Carat
Carat refers to a diamond’s weight, not size alone. While carat impacts presence, we ensure that each stone, large or small, meets our standards for beauty and brilliance. In Yarané jewellery, no carat is chosen purely for weight — only for how it complements the design.
Colour Beyond White
Not all diamonds are white and we celebrate that. Our coloured diamonds are carefully selected for their uniqueness and hue. From soft champagne tones to deep blues and fiery reds, each stone is chosen to elevate the piece it belongs to.
Coloured diamonds allow for creative expression and individuality. Their rarity lies in their tone and composition and every Yarané design that features one is crafted to showcase it in the most refined light.

Lab-Grown Emerald – The Essence of Elegant Green
Emeralds are among the most treasured members of the beryl mineral family, which also includes aquamarine and morganite. What sets the emerald apart is its distinct green hue, caused by trace elements of chromium and sometimes vanadium. In lab-grown emeralds, these same elements are replicated under carefully controlled conditions, resulting in gemstones that are chemically and optically identical to their natural counterparts.
Depending on the concentration of these trace elements, emeralds can range in colour from a soft leafy green to an intense, velvety forest green. Unlike lighter beryls, which may be sold as “green beryl” or “heliodor” if yellowish, only the deeper greens with strong saturation earn the title of emerald. These greens have captivated collectors, designers, and royalty for centuries — and now, lab-grown options allow you to access this timeless beauty more ethically and affordably.
Colour
Colour is the most influential factor in an emerald’s value. The ideal emerald displays a balanced combination of three attributes: hue, saturation, and tone. In simpler terms, you are looking for a rich green that is neither too dark nor too pale, and that holds its colour evenly throughout the stone. In our lab-grown emeralds, the environment is optimised to produce that precise shade of green — vivid, luxurious, and unmistakably elegant.
The most prized emeralds exhibit high saturation, a pure green hue, and even distribution of colour with minimal visible zoning. In lab conditions, we can consistently achieve this quality without depending on the unpredictable nature of mining.
Clarity
Emeralds are one of the few gemstones where inclusions are expected and accepted. Natural emeralds almost always have internal fissures and surface-reaching features due to their fragile crystal structure. In fact, the industry grades emerald clarity with the naked eye, not under magnification, unlike diamonds.
Our lab-grown emeralds typically show higher clarity and fewer inclusions because they are formed in ideal conditions. While some natural inclusions may be retained to mimic authenticity, they are far less likely to break the surface or impact durability. We never enhance colour artificially, and if oil is ever used for clarity improvement, it is colourless and disclosed transparently.
Emeralds without visible inclusions, showing strong primary green and little to no secondary hues (such as blue or yellow), are considered the most valuable — and our lab-grown stones are cultivated to meet this standard as closely as possible.
Lab-Grown Ruby – The Fire Within
Rubies belong to the corundum family of minerals and are chemically identical to sapphires, with one key difference — the red colour, caused by the presence of chromium. The intensity of this red varies depending on chromium concentration and the presence of iron, which can deepen the tone. Lab-grown rubies are created under conditions that mimic natural geological environments, resulting in stones that match the composition, brilliance, and hardness of their mined counterparts.

Historically known as the “king of gemstones,” their deep, vibrant red has adorned everything from ancient royal crowns to modern engagement rings. Colour
Colour is the most important value factor for rubies. The ideal ruby displays a vivid red hue with minimal modifying tones of pink, orange, or purple. The term "pigeon blood red" refers to rubies with an intense, pure red colour and a hint of fluorescence — a quality highly prized in the gem trade.
Our lab-created rubies are cultivated to deliver consistently vivid hues with excellent saturation and a balanced tone. Unlike natural rubies, which may show inconsistent colour zoning or dark patches, lab-grown rubies exhibit uniform brilliance, making them perfect for high-visibility settings such as solitaires and heirloom jewellery.
Clarity
Rubies naturally contain inclusions known as "silk" — tiny rutile needles that create softness in the colour and, when properly aligned, a desirable visual effect. While some inclusions are accepted in natural stones, excessive cloudiness or surface fissures can diminish value.
Lab-grown rubies tend to be clearer than their natural counterparts, with fewer structural flaws and no surface-reaching inclusions. This makes them more durable and visually appealing without the need for heat treatments or fracture filling, which are commonly used to improve natural ruby appearance. Any clarity enhancement, if applied, is disclosed.
Lab-Grown Blue Sapphire – The Stone of Wisdom and Strength
Blue sapphires, like rubies, are a variety of the mineral corundum. What gives sapphire its deep, captivating blue is the presence of iron and titanium. This gemstone has long been associated with loyalty, truth, and nobility — famously worn in royal jewellery and engagement rings throughout history.
Lab-grown blue sapphires possess the same optical and chemical characteristics as natural sapphires, including a hardness of 9 on the Mohs scale, making them one of the most durable gemstones. With a stunning natural look and a traceable origin, these sapphires are ideal for everyday luxury with a conscience.
Colour
